A dangerous past doesn’t need a membership card to get a foot in the door.
Juliet Saunders quit her soul-killing law career while she still had her sanity, but she’s not sure yet if buying a private bar qualifies as sane. Determined to make it work, she decides to shake things up with a new menu of signature cocktails.
Juliet never mixes emotions with business or pleasure, but there’s an irresistible spark with her new mixologist, a stunning, flirty blonde who ignites Juliet’s body in a way she hasn’t felt in years.
Paige Harrison Googled her new boss pre-interview, but nothing prepared her for Juliet’s sultry looks and slow, sensual smile. Maybe, after hopscotching through a succession of short-term bar jobs, she’s found a safe place—because in a members-only bar like The Hideout, her past isn’t likely to follow her through the door.
But in the glow of a surprising new relationship, it’s too easy to forget that safety can be an illusion…and the past is never more than a step or two behind.

I loved this! Tension started the moment Paige stepped into the bar. Paige was on the run, Juliet knew the signs...she hadn't always been a bar owner. Great writing as well.
A lot of understandable trust issues and a few twists and turns but such is the rocky road of a good romance novel. It’s worth it!
This is another entry in the "Hush Liverpool" universe and its just as good as the first one if not better. You get drawn into the lives of Juliet (a character introduced in the first book) and Paige right from the start and you're immediately invested in their story. You feel their joys and sorrows, their pain and healing, their insecurities and their budding strengths. This is a heartwarming story of incredible patience and a love so strong you have to believe in them despite what they have to overcome. All in all, another Five Star Read from Melissa Tereze!
This is not your average love at first sight HEA. This is a very understanding and respectful rendition of a normal person dealing with an horrific past. It’s also a celebration of recovery and redemption.Recommend this to anyone who understands the human condition is far from perfect, it’s hard and tough and ugly at times, but there can be joy in the imperfections.
I loved this book so much. It’s so sad but so cute and lovely at the same time. I’ve read many books by this author and I have never been disappointed with her writing.
